Prabowo Receives 81% Approval Poll Results After 100 Days in Office
Almost 81 percent of Indonesians are satisfied with President Subianto’s performance, and they credit his success to keeping his campaign pledges within 100 days.
Nearly 81% of Indonesians, according to a recent poll, are satisfied with President Prabowo Subianto’s performance during his first 100 days in office. They attribute this high rating to his early fulfillment of campaign pledges.
80.9% of the 1,000 respondents to a study by the Kompas newspaper’s research team between January 4 and January 10 said they were satisfied with Prabowo’s leadership, pointing to his emphasis on people-oriented policies and the prompt fulfillment of his campaign promises.
According to Kompas’ assessment, “those who were satisfied reasoned that every program promised had started to be implemented.”
With 94.1% of respondents favoring him as president, Prabowo, who assumed office in October of last year following a resounding election victory alongside his running partner, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, scored an outstanding image rating. His approval rate is higher than that of Joko Widodo, his predecessor, who at the same time in his first term had a 65.1% approval rating.
Prabowo’s signature free healthy meal program, which targets pregnant women and schoolchildren, was launched on January 6 and has been a major element in his popularity.
By the end of the year, the multibillion dollar initiative hopes to have reached approximately 83 million individuals, or more than 25% of Indonesia’s total population.
Nonetheless, some analysts are worried that Indonesia’s economic stability may be in jeopardy due to the increased debt needed to finance the project. *Kompas* pointed out that respondents still anticipate the program’s long-term viability.
Prabowo’s administration’s choice to restrict an increase in value-added tax to luxury products and services exclusively is another element that has contributed to his high level of popularity. Public trust in his leadership was further strengthened by respondents’ appreciation of his intentions to build additional hospitals, refurbish schools, and offer free medical examinations.
