Kim Kardashian Alerts Fans to “Horrible” Wildfire Donation Scams That Prey on Victims by Using Her Name
Kim Kardashian has alerted followers of fraudulent fundraisers that use her name to take advantage of victims of the catastrophe in Los Angeles.
On her Instagram Stories, the reality TV personality posted images of phony emails that were sent to victims in an attempt to cheat them.
Following her appreciation of firefighters—including unpaid inmates who risk their lives—Kim Kardashian urged Governor Gavin Newsom to increase their pay.
Donation scams involving wildfires are exposed by Kim Kardashian.
After her name was mistakenly connected to a phony fundraiser purporting to aid victims of the wildfires in Los Angeles, Kardashian recently took to Instagram to warn her fans to be on the lookout for scams.
The creator of SKIMS released a picture of a hoax email that purported to be a campaign she allegedly started, alerting followers of fraudulent fundraising letters that use her name.
“Watch out for con artists! This isn’t true. If someone receives a similar email. “How awful,” Kardashian wrote as the Instagram Stories caption.
She brought attention to yet another dubious email with the subject line “Kim Kardashian Campaigns For Affected People In LA.”
The millionaire reacted to the grammatical mistakes in the email by saying, “This email is NOT me!”
Before making a donation, Kardashian advised her followers to confirm any fundraising initiatives.
Kim Kardashian thanks firefighters for their service.
Kardashian, 44, has a house in The Oaks, a gated neighborhood close to the center of the wildfire tragedy.
She just expressed her appreciation to the firemen who are valiantly fighting the unrelenting flames that are ravaging Southern California.
“I’ve been watching my city burn for the last week. Additionally, I’ve seen and talked to a lot of firemen who stay up all night trying to save our neighborhood,” she said.
Kardashian said, “Thank you to @calfire la County Fire and Los Angeles City Fire for everything you are doing to save lives, homes, and property.”
The reality TV star demanded that firefighters who are incarcerated and risk their lives fighting wildfires in Los Angeles receive fair compensation.
Kardashian highlighted the efforts of jailed firefighters fighting the flames in Los Angeles in a different post.
While working exhausting “24-hour shifts” in the Palisades and Eaton fires, she emphasized that “on all 5 fires in Los Angeles, there are hundreds of incarcerated firefighters, risking their lives to save us.”
In order to demonstrate to the community that they have evolved and are now first responders, they risk their lives and receive essentially no compensation. Some of them have even lost their lives. According to the Daily Mail, Kardashian said, “I consider them heroes.”
Since 1984, these firemen have been paid almost nothing—just $1 per hour—to “risk their lives,” she stated, adding that the “pay hasn’t been adjusted for inflation or the worsening fire conditions, despite many losing their lives in service.”
Kardashian said that “this year there was an agreement to raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to $5/hour, but it got shot down last minute.”
She wrote: “I am urging @cagovernor to do what no Governor has done in 4 decades, and raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to a rate that honors a human being risking their life to save our lives and homes.” She was pressing California Governor Gavin Newsom to take action.
Formerly jailed firefighters are praised by Kim Kardashian for defending her community.
Kardashian also expressed her sincere gratitude to the firemen who fought the Kenneth Fire, which started on Thursday, and helped save her neighborhood.
The mother-of-four and her family had to temporarily leave their homes in Hidden Hills and Calabasas due to the fire. But when the fire was contained, the evacuation orders were subsequently revoked.
An arson suspect has been taken into custody, and the Kenneth Fire is now 80% controlled.
Kardashian posted on social media, saying, “I want to thank the firefighters from the @calfire Ventura Training Center for saving my community when it started burning this week.”
These firemen, she said, are “all FORMERLY incarcerated firefighters who have come home and want to continue serving our community as firefighters.”
The reality TV personality went on: “These guys can now have their sentences shortened and the crimes expunged from their fire service records thanks to legislation enacted by the @antirecidivismcoalition. Additionally, they can work for fire departments and earn six figures when they return home.
