Eagles LB Nakobe Dean sustains a ruptured patellar tendon, according to reports

NFL Network and ESPN have reported that Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean will be sidelined for the remainder of the postseason and, it is anticipated, the start of the following season, due to a ruptured patellar tendon he sustained during Sunday’s playoff victory over Green Bay.

Dean sustained an injury during the second quarter of the Eagles’ 22-10 wild card victory while attempting to tackle Packers tight end Tucker Kraft. Dean was transported to the locker room. Dean was succeeded by Oren Burks, who is expected to assume the role forward.

Dean completed six tackles, two of which were for loss, prior to his departure. In 15 starts this season, he recorded 128 tackles, four passes defensed, and three interceptions, which was a breakthrough campaign for the former third-round selection.

Dean, 24, has made 171 tackles in 37 career games, including 19 starts.

Dean’s 2023 season was prematurely terminated due to a Lisfranc sprain.

In the divisional round that will take place next weekend, the Eagles will entertain the victorious team from the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings’ matchup on Monday night.
