Rayon and Ugandan attacker Fahad Bayo are in their last discussions

Aziz Fahad Bayo of Uganda is close to signing a two-year contract with Rwanda Premier League leaders Rayon Sports.

On July 1, 2024, the 26-year-old Bayo was released by Czech team MFK Vyšov, making him a free agent. Prior to signing his compatriots Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka on Wednesday, January 7, he was also being considered by APR FC.

As countryman Charles Bbaale is now injured, Rayon Sports is reportedly in talks with the player in an effort to bolster their offensive force, according to reports from Ugandan media sites.

By joining attackers Fall Ngagne, who tops the scoring charts with eight goals, and Hadji Iraguha, who has five goals so far this season, Rayon will provide more offensive spark.

Prior to moving to the Czech Republic, Bayo made 24 appearances for Vipers in 2019–2020, scoring 15 goals.

During his tenure at Vipers, he won the Uganda Premier League and the Fufa Super Cup. In the current 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, he also scored one goal for the Uganda Cranes.

As they continue their quest for the first league title since current coach Robertinho took over in 2019, Rayon is looking forward to bolstering the team during the January transfer window.

With 36 points, the Blues are now five points ahead of their bitter rivals APR FC, who are now in second place. On Saturday, January 11, they will travel to Huye Stadium to play Mukura VS in their next test.

On January 3, the 2024–2025 season’s midseason transfer window formally opened, and it will end on January 31.
