The NOC subsidiary of Libya begins producing gas and oil at the Chadar field
Zallaf for Oil and Gas Co., a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), announced Monday that it has begun producing 1,500 barrels of crude oil and more than 7.5 million cubic feet of associated gas per day at the Chadar field.
In a statement, the NOC stated that the first day’s output rates were attained. By the end of 2024, Libya was producing little more than 1.4 million barrels of oil per day.
Chadar field, sometimes called NC-126, is situated in eastern Libya in the Sirte Basin, southeast of Ajdabiya.
The NOC shared images of large trucks with two reservoirs in the back and field workers wearing yellow helmets amidst pipelines.
In March 2023, Zallaf opened a new tab for engineering work on the proposed South Refinery project, which is expected to cost between $500 million and $600 million. The company, Honeywell (HON.O), is situated in the United States.
About 30,000 barrels of crude oil would be processed daily by the refinery to create standard petroleum products.
