Trump’s Inaugural Prayer Service and Special Events Demand Exorbitant Contributions to Enter
Donors and supporters of Donald Trump who want to meet him in person during the inauguration celebrations have to pay some fairly high prices.
Trump’s transition team is planning a number of activities, including an interfaith prayer service the day before his inauguration on January 20th, where attendees will have the opportunity to join Trump and his wife, Melania. Tickets will only be given to those who raise $200,000 for the inaugural events or donate at least $100,000. A prospectus describing this service and other special event, such as a “cabinet reception” and a “candlelight dinner” with Trump and Melania, was previously revealed by Axios.
Six tickets to all inaugural events are available to higher-tier contributors who raise $2 million or donate $1 million. The venue and attendees of the service have not been confirmed by the transition team.
Trump was present during a prayer session at St. John’s Episcopal Church in 2017. Later, this historic location became well-known as Trump took a Bible photo during the 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstrations, which infuriated Episcopal clergy.
Regardless of the election’s outcome, the Washington National Cathedral, which hosted Trump’s 2017 interfaith celebration, will hold a “Service for the Nation” on January 21.
Meanwhile, Sean Feucht, an evangelical singer, declared that a worship session called “Revive in 25” would take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. But when the church refused to grant authorization, Feucht referred to the logistical difficulties as “warfare.” He subsequently explained that the event’s location is still “TBD.”
The involvement of Trump in any of these incidents has not yet been confirmed by his team.
