Dame Dash Compares This Batman Villain To Jay-Z: “He’s That Ruthless”
This specific villain appeared on one of 2024’s most popular television programs.
Damon Dash is skilled at creating headlines, and lately, his remarks against JAY-Z have frequently been at the core of his contentious analysis. The Roc-A-Fella co-founder likened his former business partner to a notorious movie antagonist in his most recent Q&A.
Dame discussed how the 4:44 artist hindered his business endeavors and possible earnings in an interview with The Art Of Dialogue. He started off by saying that he doesn’t give a damn about the Brooklyn rapper unless he is meddling in his business affairs, which people might or might not believe. Dash remarked, “I don’t give a f**k what Jay’s doing unless he’s [messing] my money up.” However, I’m like, ‘You know what?’ when he’s [tampering] with my money. “Enough is enough.”
Dash went on, mentioning in particular how Hov separated from Rocawear, the well-known clothing company they co-founded in the 2000s, in 2005. A significant agreement fell through as a result of this action. The executive clarified, “[JAY-Z] announces that he’s not with Rocawear, that he’s only [messing] with S. Carter, just before Tommy Hilfiger signs the papers.” “I feel that he f**ked the entire [deal] up just because I was going to get forty million dollars.”
While JAY-Z sold the clothing company to Iconix company Group in 2007 for $204 million, Dash later sold his share of Rocawear and took home $22.5 million. Dash thought this was no coincidence, especially given it occurred several times later, he said. “He’s always stepped in and purposefully f**ked it up whenever I could have made a really big check,” he said. “At all times.”
As a result, the 53-year-old businessman suggested a negative analogy for the head of Roc Nation. Dash compared Hov to one of Batman’s most well-known adversaries, saying, “If you could compare him to a character now, I’d say he’s like the Penguin.” After a miniseries based on the Penguin debuted on Max in 2024, the figure became even more popular. “He’s brutal in that way,” Dame continued.
The director also voiced his annoyance at the notion that he constantly brings up JAY-Z without any reason. “People are actually asking me questions about [JAY-Z], but they act like I just offered to start talking about him,” he said. “Why the f**k do people keep asking me questions about Jay if they don’t want to hear me talk about him?”
The “feud” between JAY-Z and Dash has been going on for more than 20 years; Steve Stoute even discussed it on Club Shay Shay.
In March, he told Shannon Sharpe, “Dame wouldn’t change.” “The manner in which he addressed and cared for others.” He was upset. He had a strong opinion about his business philosophy, which made him angry […]. People were starting to owe him less.
In his subsequent statement, he highlighted the reasons behind the 24-time Grammy winner’s eventual separation with Dash. He remarked, “Jay saw Dame’s ceiling.” “He desired more.” And all of them desired more. Dame simply approached it in a very specific manner. He is not at all foolish. incredibly intelligent. incredibly gifted. Extremely inflated ego. Through the roof! Thus, it was impossible to collaborate with him. Nobody desired to collaborate with him. Despite his skill, no one [wants] to collaborate with him.
