A white Massachusetts teen repeatedly refers to a black teen as “George Floyd” and admits guilt to attempting to drown him

In a recent plea, a 15-year-old white boy admitted to trying to drown a black youngster during an assault last year while yelling racist epithets.

John Sheeran, the tormentor, met his victim at a pond in Chatham, Massachusetts, in 2023. Reports state that the victim, who was wearing a life jacket since he couldn’t swim, soon became the object of physical and verbal abuse. Sheeran allegedly forced the teenager into the sea and threw pebbles at him. Once there, Sheeran continuously called the child the n-word while swimming out to him and sticking his head under the water several times. Sheeran’s accomplice also made fun of the drowning teenager and called him “George Floyd,” which further exacerbated the racial harm.

According to a witness, the youngster also pleaded with Sheeran not to push or splash him because he was unable to swim. The boy begged and screamed for aid as Sheeran and his accomplice forced him underwater, according to the witness. According to reports, the two teenagers were smirking and displaying no remorse for their crimes when they were approached.

But Sheeran admitted to the accusations of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. Although he could receive an adult sentence as a result of his plea, the courts are currently determining how to charge him. Sheeran’s accomplice, meanwhile, will face a juvenile trial and is now facing harassment charges.
