An Oklahoma mother was apprehended after her baby was abandoned at a Florida casino with a soiled diaper

An Oklahoma mother is currently incarcerated for abandoning her infant during a visit to a Florida casino.

The infant was discovered at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and Rubi Verduzco, 29, was arrested on December 24th on two counts of felony child neglect. The infant was discovered in a soiled diaper, left in the open, by a police officer who arrived on Christmas Eve. The baby was dropped by the bell desk by three males, according to an employee who reported the incident to the authorities. The infant was purportedly left alone for 30 minutes prior to the officer’s arrival.

Verduzco returned 15 minutes later, asserting that she had argued with her “Baby Daddy” and had abandoned the infant with an unknown group of acquaintances. According to reports, she was inebriated, exhibiting bloodshot eyes, impaired speech, and a pungent alcohol odor. She provided the police with the baby’s name, but she was uncertain about the child’s birthdate. She contacted a man who initially claimed to be in Oklahoma but later stated that he was in Orlando and uncertain if he could retrieve the infant when she inquired about the father.

Verduzco was apprehended for failing to ascertain the identity of the individual or duration of her child’s supervision. Verduzco was lodged into the Broward County Jail with a $2,500 bond, and the infant was removed from his custody by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
