Dennis Rodman tells his daughter Trinity he’s sorry for not being “the dad you wanted me to be” after she made some shocking revelations about childhood

Dennis Rodman has reacted to his daughter’s claims about how involved (or not involved) he is as a father.

This week, his daughter Trinity Rodman did a rare interview with Call Her Daddy. In it, she talked about how the legendary Chicago Bulls player wasn’t there for her as a dad.

“He’s a person.” He’s not a dad. “Maybe by blood, but not by anything else,” the 22-year-old said about Dennis Rodman.

The NBA Hall of Famer responded to the tough things that were said in the interview by sharing a video of all the pictures he has with his daughter along with a long caption on Instagram.

Rodman began, “I’m sorry I wasn’t the dad you wanted me to be, but I still tried, and I still try, and I never will stop. I will keep trying even when you’re an adult and being told not to answer my calls.” I’ll do my best, even if it’s hard or takes a long time. When you call or leave a message, I’ll always be here to tell you how proud I am. One thing I always wished for was for my kids to call me and come over. I hope I can get that one day. Come on, pick up the phone. You have my number, you can see me calling, I’m still here. “Dad,” says Dennis RODMAN.

Rodman’s caption went on with what looks like a reaction to Trinity’s claim that her dad was only there for the photos as a dad. During her Call Her Daddy episode, she talked about the NWSL playoff game he showed up to in November 2021 and insisted it wasn’t a happy homecoming.

“Everyone is confused and crying, and I’m telling them, ‘Dude, my dad’s here,'” Trinity remembered and said that she hadn’t talked to her dad in months. “Then I walk over, and there are cameras all over again. He grabs my head, and I start crying in his arms like it’s a moment between a father and daughter.”

The former ball player said in the caption that he watches all of her games, which made it sound like he wanted to go to more than just the one.

“Just so you know, I watch you play all the time. I actually flew in to see you play but was told not to because I was with someone else. I just wanted to support you, so I watched you from my hotel balcony to make everyone happy,” he said. “I love all of my kids’ untold stories.”

Even though Dennis wants his kids to call him more, it looks like their relationship can’t really be fixed. Trinity told Alex Cooper on the show that she still picks up the phone when her dad calls for her “sanity” and “if he needs to hear my voice before something happens.” That’s why I answer the phone, not for myself.
