Combs, Sean “Diddy,” is in federal court on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking
Sean “Diddy” Combs went to court and was charged with major crimes. His trial is set for May 2025.
On Wednesday, Sean “Diddy” Combs went to federal court to face charges of fraud, sex trafficking, and transporting people to engage in prostitution.
In this case, the prosecutors said that their investigation into Combs was still going on. When Judge Arun Subramanian asked them if they would be filing a superseding charge, the prosecutors said they did not know. Combs is next due in court on March 17 for a brief hearing about his case.
Discovery will likely be done by the end of 2024. This case will go to court on May 5, 2025.
In a tan prison uniform, Combs walked into court on Wednesday and looked around the crowd. Later, he pointed to his kids Christian and Justin Combs and asked them out loud if they were okay. Both of them said “yes.”
The music mogul was arrested in September on all three counts. All of the charges against Combs are not true.
At least since 2008, federal prosecutors say Combs has been in charge of a huge criminal operation that used his different businesses to assault and traffic women. The indictment talks about a specific event series called “Freak Offs.” Combs is said to have hired commercial sex workers and then “used force, threats of force, and coercion to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts” that were recorded and could last for days.

Prosecutors say that while Combs was in jail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, he got other prisoners’ phone numbers to avoid being caught and to call witnesses. They also said that he had told his family and lawyers to add other people to three-way calls to make it harder to track the conversations.
