‘Terrible’ People Admire UnitedHealthcare CEO Killer Luigi Mangione, According to Donald Trump
According to Donald Trump, “it’s really terrible” that Luigi Mangione, the man suspected of killing Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, is appreciated and liked. After a week-long manhunt, Mangione was taken into custody on December 9 at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
On December 17, the 26-year-old was charged with terrorism and first-degree murder. In addition, he was accused of second-degree murder and multiple accusations of weapons possession.
On December 4, Thompson, 50, was killed in front of the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
“It’s Really Bad.”
On December 16, Trump held a press conference. The twice-impeached president claimed in a video posted on YouTube by NBC News that it was “terrible” that so many people found Mangione admirable. Social media users praised the alleged murderer for his attractiveness and the unpopularity of insurance firms.
“I think it’s really terrible that some people seem to admire him, like him,” Trump stated. “Seeing that it wasn’t unique to this individual who was killed made me pleased. It’s simply a general illness rather than a particular one… That was extremely bad. It was heartless. Just a terrible, heartless murder.”
“And how people can like this guy is a … that’s a sickness, actually,” he continued.
“Perhaps it’s fake news,” he continued. There seems to be a particular desire for him. I don’t understand.
Mangione Luigi was taken into custody with a 9mm
According to reports, on December 9, Luigi Mangione, the man arrested by Pennsylvania police in connection with the shocking murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Mangione, apparently stepped off a Greyhound bus to enter a nearby McDonald’s.
According to ABC News, he was identified and subsequently captured in possession of a 9 mm handgun, two magazines of ammunition, a 3D-printed receiver, a homemade silencer, and multiple live cartridges.
Thompson was shot twice while attending a UnitedHealthcare investor conference in New York, once in the calf and once in the back. Video footage of the shooting showed a man who looked to be Mangione waiting for the CEO and then shooting at the father of two.
Despite not appearing to be covered by that insurance company, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg claimed that Mangione singled out Thompson. According to Bragg, “this was a killing to evoke terror.” “This was an extraordinary killing, not just any killing.”
Luigi Mangione Disapproved of the Medical System
NPR reports that Mangione used social media posts to express his dissatisfaction with the healthcare system. According to reports, the Baltimore native and Ivy League graduate was also arrested carrying a handwritten note outlining his complaints and denouncing corporate greed.
Mangione, who had undergone spinal surgery to alleviate his persistent back pain, described a “capitalist society” on Reddit. He gave another user advice on how to interact with insurance companies and the healthcare system.
After hearing Mangione’s opinions, social media praised him.
After Mangione’s opinions regarding the healthcare business were made public, many individuals, including comic Chris Rock, were taken aback by the outpouring of support he received on social media.
As previously reported by The Blast, Rock made light of the positive reviews Mangione was receiving on social media during a recent Saturday Night Live appearance.
Luigi is among us, you know. And that’s a good thing. My sympathies are with the family. “Everyone is obsessed with this guy’s appearance,” he remarked. “No one would mind if he resembled Jonah Hill.” He had already received the chair from them. Wouldn’t he be dead?
In addition, Rock mentioned that Thompson had two kids.
“I mean, my sympathies are with you. My deepest sympathies go out to the CEO of the healthcare industry. “You realize that this is a real person?” he asked. However, you also have to acknowledge that drug dealers are occasionally shot. You have seen “The Wire,” after all.
NYC Police Commissioner Disapproves of Accolades
Social media users have been lauding Mangione and referring to him as a saint. He was once referred to as a “hero” by an X user for opposing the healthcare system.
“He took action against private health insurance corporations is what he did,” the individual wrote. He was a valiant martyr from Italy. “Luigi Mangione is a hero in this house, end of story!”
Jessica Tisch, the commissioner of police in New York City, described the praise as “shocking.”
“We have seen a shocking and appalling celebration of cold-blooded murder,” she continued. “Praise for this cowardly attack has exploded on social media. The CEOs and other CEOs were threatened by macabre posters that included a “x” over Mr. Thompson’s photo, as if he were a twisted trophy.
“This violent conduct made no logic. It was a cold-blooded, well-planned crime that endangered New Yorkers and took a life. We don’t glorify killings, and we don’t celebrate murders,” she continued.
