Jerry Jones: Micah Parsons will remain with the Cowboys

Micah Parsons, an All-Pro edge rusher for the Dallas Cowboys, is not being traded; team owner Jerry Jones has expressed this opinion personally.

Jones was adamant that Parsons would continue to be a part of the Cowboys’ foundation into the future during his weekly visit on 105.3 The Fan.

To Jones, the notion of trading the two-time first-team All-Pro has “never been uttered in this organization.”

The NFL Network report that stated the Cowboys hadn’t ruled out dealing Parsons before his contract was resolved prompted Jones to make his remark. Prior to Parsons becoming a free agency in 2026, Dallas has a $24 million team option for 2025.

Following Dallas’ 30-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Parsons was questioned about that exact idea.

Parsons reportedly stated, “I understand how that business side goes,” according to The Athletic. “Whether I’m here or somewhere else, there are no animosities in our profession. I’ve said I want to be here, of course. Ultimately, though, I am aware of the business aspect.

Last spring, Parsons did not take part in Dallas’ offseason practices. He stated, however, that he still wishes to play for the Cowboys.

“I’ve played hard and worked hard, so it goes without saying that if sides can’t agree on those kinds of things, it occurs that way. I’m simply glad to be here, though. While I’m here, I’m simply going to keep playing hard. I’m going to continue playing hard if I’m here for the next five or six years. Micah will play hard, and nothing will really change that.

In 10 games (all starts) this season, Parsons, 25, has recorded 32 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

In 60 career games (all starts), Parsons has amassed 245 tackles, 49 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times in his first three seasons in the league.
