Carson Beck, the quarterback for Georgia, had a UCL injury
According to On3, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck hurt his throwing elbow’s ulnar collateral ligament during the SEC championship game on Monday.
According to the story, Beck is seeking second opinions and there is no set timeline for his return.
Beck was sidelined for the second half after suffering an injury on the last play of the first half. But after his replacement, Gunner Stockton, was hurt on a huge hit, he came back to pass the ball to running back Trevor Etienne for the game-winning score in overtime to overcome Texas.
At the end of the first half, Trey Moore of Texas forced a fumble on Beck’s Hail Mary attempt. After a brief period of inaction on the field, Beck went to the locker room to join the team.
Second-placed In the Sugar Bowl, the College Football Playoff quarterfinal round, Georgia will play the winner of the matchup between No. 7 Notre Dame and No. 10 Indiana on January 1.
This season, Beck’s throwing total has been 3,485 yards, a career-high 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Before he was hurt, he was only 56 yards and 7 for 13.
