Salah now holds the same Premier League record as Rooney
The English Premier League record for goals scored in a season was tied by Egyptian ace Mohamed Salah over the weekend.
In a big game on Sunday at Anfield Stadium, the experienced player scored a goal and set up another so that Liverpool FC beat Manchester City 2-1.
Salah had scored and set up a goal for the 36th time in a Premier League game, tying a record set by former England player Wayne Rooney.
Rooney played for Manchester United and Everton FC in the English Premier League. He is widely regarded as one of the best players of his age and one of the best British players of all time.
“36—Mohamed Salah has scored and set up a goal in a Premier League game for the 36th time, breaking Wayne Rooney’s record and becoming the joint-highest scorer and assist in the history of the competition.” “King,” it said in a release.
Since Salah scored his 11th goal in 13 games, he is now only one goal behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot award.
