Man City manager Guardiola explains what he meant by the comment about self-harm
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, said that the joke he told after Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with Feyenoord was not meant to make fun of the “very serious issue of self-harm.”
In the press meeting after the game, Guardiola was asked how he got the cut on his nose. He said, “With my finger, my nail.” I wish I could hurt myself. The man, who is 53 years old, went on social media on Wednesday to explain her answer.
“I was caught off guard with a question at the end of a press conference last night about a scratch which had appeared on my face and explained that a sharp fingernail had accidentally caused this,” X said.
“My answer wasn’t meant to make fun of the very serious problem of self-harm in any way.” I’m aware that a lot of people deal with mental health problems every day. I’d like to take a moment to show one way that people can get help: by calling 116 123 or emailing jo@samaritans.org, opens in a new tab.
