Bishop T.D. Jakes is “stable” after a medical emergency during the sermon

The Potter’s House of Dallas said something after an online video of the event started going around.

While speaking at The Potter’s House Of Dallas church on Sunday (Nov. 24), Bishop T.D. Jakes had a health problem and had to be rushed to the hospital. A video clip from the talk is going around the internet, and it shows the 67-year-old stopping in the middle of his speech to shake and sit still before dropping the microphone.

Dozens of people rush to help him as the crowd stands and prays or yells. The church then cuts off the live stream quickly.

Later that night, the church made a statement about their senior leader.

A small health problem happened during today’s service, and Bishop T.D. Jakes got medical help right away after his powerful hour-long message, the memo said. Doctors are taking good care of Bishop Jakes and he is safe. Everyone at Potter’s House is thankful for all the love, prayers, and help that has come from the community.

The church went on to say, “Thank you for understanding and the prayers that keep coming.”

The official website for The Potter’s House of Dallas says that it was formed in 1996 and is a Christian church that is not affiliated with any one denomination. The megachurch is a non-profit group with more than 30,000 members.

In their goal statement, The Potter’s House and T. D. Jakes Ministries say they want to be known all over the world as a place where people can find spiritual and economic hope, support, and strength for life.

“The History Makers” says that Jakes became a Bishop in 1987. In 1992, he preached Woman, Thou Art Loosed for the first time. The next year, he started a weekly TV show on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Jakes began his weekly shows on Black Entertainment Television (BET) in 1994. In 2001, Time magazine and CNN named him America’s Best Preacher.
