Hyundai Issues A Power Outage Recall For 145,235 Electrified Cars In The US

In the US, Hyundai has recalled 145,235 electric cars. because of possible driving power reduction, according to the NHTSA.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Friday that South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor has recalled over 145,235 electric cars in the US because of a possible driving power loss.

Selected IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 electric cars (EVs) and some luxury Genesis models, such as the electrified GV60, GV70, and G80 models, from the 2022–2025 model years are affected by the recall.

The NHTSA claims that the problem is caused by the integrated charging control units in these cars, which could break down and stop charging the 12-volt battery. Driver safety could be at danger if this breakdown results in a total loss of drive power.

Hyundai has promised customers that it is closely collaborating with NHTSA to resolve the issue, but it has not yet given a timeframe for when the cars will be fixed.
