The US does not agree with the ICC’s requests to arrest Israeli leaders, a White House spokesperson said

The International Criminal Court (ICC) decided to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense chief on Thursday. A spokesman for the White House National Security Council said that the US did not agree with this decision.

“The United States strongly disagrees with the Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for top Israeli officials.” The lawyer’s haste to get arrest warrants and the troubling mistakes in the process that led to this decision continue to worry us, the spokesman said, adding that the U.S. is talking with its partners about what to do next.
