IOM reports that more than 14 million people are displaced in Sudan
Around 200,000 people have been leaving since last month, according to the chairman of the International Organization for Migration, who claimed on Tuesday that over 14 million people had left their homes in Sudan, either inside the nation or outside its boundaries.
“The 3.1 million are those who have crossed borders, while the 11 million are internally displaced within the nation. IOM Director-General Amy Pope said reporters, “That’s actually over 14 million people who are on the move right now.”
She went on to say that some individuals who were displaced before to the start of the civil war in April 2023 were included in the overall number.
