England’s Manchester United has released Erik ten Hag

Following a string of bad results, Erik ten Hag has been officially fired as manager of Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag was fired by Manchester United after the team’s worst start to a Premier League season. This happened only four months after the manager was given a new deal.

United has been having a tough time. In their first nine league games, they’ve only won three, including a recent 2-1 loss at West Ham, which made the club’s new owners even more unhappy.

The choice to no longer work with Ten Hag was made official on Monday. Ruud van Nistelrooy, a former United striker who was Ten Hag’s assistant, will take over as temporary boss right away.

The club said in a statement, “We thank Erik for all he has done for us and wish him the best in the future.” “Ruud van Nistelrooy will be the team’s interim head coach, with help from the current coaching staff, until a permanent head coach is hired.”

Ten Hag was under a lot of pressure last season because United came eighth in the Premier League, which was a disappointment. He did, however, end the season on a high note by leading United to a win over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Even though there was talk about his future, he was given a one-year extension on his deal in the summer and helped in the trade market.

But United had a bad start to the season, losing to Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. They are now 14th in the table.

Even though the club had some wins under Ten Hag, like winning the Carabao Cup and finishing third in the Premier League in his first season, his time as manager is over after two and a half years.
