FIFA Rankings: The Super Eagles are now ranked fourth in Africa after moving up three spots globally

The Super Eagles are now ranked fourth in Africa after moving up three spots in the most recent FIFA rankings.

According to the most recent FIFA men’s rankings, which were made public on Thursday, the Nigerian Super Eagles have moved up three spots. Nigeria rose 5.27 points from 39th to 36th place in the international football rankings released by the international Football Governing Body in October.

The national team is now ranked fourth in Africa after the Super Eagles moved up two slots in the continental rankings. This move comes after they defeated Libya 1-0 earlier this month in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.

The top six rankings have not changed, as Argentina remains at the top of the world rankings. The top-ranked team in Africa is Morocco. Tunisia recorded the worst decrease, falling 11 spots, while Comoros saw the most improvement, moving up 10 spots. According to the most recent standings, Cape Verde lost the most points, while Botswana gained the most.

The Super Falcons are still in first place in Africa and 36th overall in the women’s standings. November 28, 2024, is the date of the upcoming FIFA rankings.
