Multiple people are killed in a deadly terrorist attack that targets the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries

There have been reports of shooting and explosives during a deadly attack at Turkish Aerospace Industries, which is located close to Ankara.

The Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) headquarters near Ankara was the scene of a terrible attack on Wednesday that left numerous people dead or injured. Local media aired footage of armed attackers entering the building as shooting and a loud explosion were reported.

The TUSAS facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara, were the focus of the attack, according to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. On social media site X, Yerlikaya declared, “Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people.” He did not specify the cause of the explosion and gunshots or the identity of the attackers.

Unverified media reports have claimed that there were captives inside the building and that the incident was a suicide. Although these allegations have not yet been verified by authorities, witnesses said that staff members were being led to shelters while no one was permitted to exit the facility. Additionally, it was feared that bombings had taken place at various exits while workers were wrapping up their daily tasks.

A shattered gate and a gunfight in the facility’s parking area were shown on television, and the assailants were seen entering with assault rifles and backpacks. Prosecutors have opened an investigation into the event, and emergency personnel were quickly sent to the area.

Among other significant projects, TUSAS, a prominent force in Turkey’s defense and aerospace sector, is in charge of producing the KAAN, the country’s first national combat aircraft. The company has more than 10,000 employees.
