Son of Osama bin Laden Expelled from France for Endorsing Terrorism
The son of Osama bin Laden, Omar Binladin, was deported from France due to his promotion of terrorism on social media.
The son of Osama bin Laden, the founder of Al Qaeda, Omar Binladin, has been deported from France and is not allowed to return after making remarks on social media that were thought to praise terrorism. The expulsion was confirmed by French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, who gave Binladin’s 2023 remarks as justification.
Painting landscapes, Binladin had been residing in Normandy, France, with his British husband. Though the precise message could not be found, the French authorities were made aware of a social media post commemorating the birthday of his father, who was killed by US soldiers in 2011. Police had searched the Normandy hamlet of Domfort in July 2023 for him.
Retailleau stated on X that Mr. Binladin, who has been married to a British national and has resided in the Orne region for a number of years, made remarks glorifying terrorism on his social media platforms in 2023. “Mr. Binladin will be unable to return to France for any reason at all thanks to the administrative ban.”
Regarding the deportation, Binladin has not yet released any words to the public.
