According to the FBI, Iranian hackers target the Trump campaign and provide information to Biden associates

According to the FBI, people associated with Biden’s campaign received stolen data from Trump’s campaign via Iranian hackers.

U.S. intelligence services and the FBI have confirmed that Iranian hackers have shared compromised information from Donald Trump’s electoral campaign to persons associated with the Biden campaign, which is a troubling development ahead of the November election.

An FBI statement released on Wednesday stated that the hack is said to have happened in late June or early July.

Authorities claim that a number of Biden associates received unsolicited emails from the hackers carrying sensitive material, but there is no proof that any of the receivers replied. This action occurred prior to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential contest.

Officials claim that Iran is using the hacking as part of a larger plan to “stoke discord” and erode trust in American institutions. According to reports, Iran has attempted to get entry to the Democratic and Republican campaigns through “social engineering and other efforts,” a strategy it has reportedly employed alongside Russia in other nations.

U.S. officials issued a warning in August about foreign actors attempting to sabotage the 2018 elections. According to the FBI’s most recent statement, Iranian hackers have been aggressively trying to deliver stolen Trump campaign materials to American media outlets since June.

The episode, according to Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, is evidence that Iran is meddling to help Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris. She said that Biden and Harris should provide an explanation for what transpired with the stolen papers. Leavitt questioned, “What did they know and when did they know it?”

In line with these views, the former president Trump informed supporters that Biden’s collaboration with Iran is the reason “they [Iran] gave them all the materials.”

In response, Morgan Finkelstein, a spokesman for the Harris-Walz campaign, said that the campaign has completely cooperated with authorities and denounced any foreign meddling.

Finkelstein stressed that no campaign materials had been delivered directly to the people who were targeted by what seemed to be phishing emails.

With a categorical denial of any involvement, Iran’s permanent representative to the UN declared that the country “neither has any motive nor intent to interfere in the U.S. election.”

In order to stop more disruptions, the FBI is closely collaborating with the victims of the intrusion as it proceeds with its investigation.
