Aussems points out a worrying factor, even though Singapore United had a great start

The Singida Black Stars kept up their great play in the Premier League by beating KMC FC 2-1 at the CCM Liti Stadium last week.

Following this win, they have now won three straight league games and are now in first place with nine points from three games. In the 40th minute, Josephat Bada scored the first goal for Singida Black Stars. Elvis Rupia scored the second goal in the second half.

Even though KMC FC scored a goal back, it wasn’t enough to stop Singida Black Stars from winning the game. With the win, they moved ahead of Simba SC, who are in second place with six points from two games.

Head coach Patrick Aussems was happy with how his team played, but he stressed that they needed to do even better. “We have worked hard since the beginning of pre-season, and today we see the fruits of our labor,” Aussems told the Guardian after the game.

“They were a good team, and the game was very open.” But I’m unhappy with the last 20 to 25 minutes after we scored the second goal. We took it easy too much and chose to protect instead of trying to score a third goal.

“We need to be stronger and work smarter.” We let one goal in, so we need to improve our defense. Also, we had a few chances to score more goals, and we need to improve our attack and defense.

The 2024–25 Premier League season has off to a great start for Singida Black Stars.

They won their first game 3-1 against Ken Gold at Sokoine Mbeya Stadium. Then they beat Kagera Sugar 1-0 at Kaitaba Stadium, and their most recent win was against KMC FC.
