Trump: Kamala Harris and I will no longer debate

Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, announced on Thursday that he would not participate in an additional presidential debate against Kamala Harris in advance of the Nov. 5 election. This decision was made after several polls indicated that Harris had emerged victorious in their previous debate earlier this week.

On the social media platform Truth Social, the former president declared, “There will be no third debate!” Prior to his debate with Harris on Tuesday, Trump had engaged in a debate with President Joe Biden in June.

Despite Trump’s praise for his performance against Harris on Tuesday, six Republican donors and three Trump advisers who spoke to Reuters earlier this week believed that Harris had substantially won the debate due to Trump’s inability to remain consistent with his message.

67.1 million television viewers tuned in to the debate, as indicated by Nielsen data.

Harris stated at a rally shortly after Trump’s post went live, “I am of the opinion that we are obligated to conduct another debate in order to satisfy the voters.”

Although Trump claimed in his post that polls indicated that he had won the debate, numerous surveys indicated that respondents believed Harris performed better.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Thursday indicated that 53% of voters believed Harris had won and 24% believed Trump had won, among those who had heard at least something about Tuesday’s debate.

The poll revealed that 54% of registered voters believed that the single debate between Trump and Harris was sufficient, while 46% desired a second debate.

According to a CNN flash poll that was released immediately after the debate, the majority of viewers believed that Harris outperformed Trump. Based on the results of the YouGov survey, Harris was declared the winner by 54% of the respondents, while Trump was declared the winner by 31%.
