The rapper Rich Homie Quan’s father has announced plans for a public funeral, saying, “Without the Fans, There Would Be No Quan”

Rich Homie Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, has made public the celebrity from Atlanta’s funeral plans.

Lamar—who was also Quan’s manager—shared on a call with Yung Joc’s Streetz Morning Takeover that a lot of people had been asking if the farewell ceremony would be held in secret. In order for his family to “start the healing process,” Lamar acknowledged that at first he wanted to “rush the process.” But, Lamar made the decision to open the funeral to the public so that fans may pay their respects on what he describes as a “grand occasion” after speaking with others who knew Quan.

“Quan wouldn’t exist without the fans,” Lamar said, going on to say that he would like to let RHQ followers come to the service.

Rich Homie Quan passed unexpectedly last week after his fiancée discovered him unconscious in their house. Talking with the operator over the phone, she called 911 and reported that she could not find any signs of life. The results of the autopsy have been released, however the reason of death is still unknown. Although the family has not confirmed it, some online stories have suggested that the person may have overdosed. Rather, they are now concentrating on preserving his memory.

“I want this homecoming to be greater than life for my son. On the call, Lamar stated, “I want people to see the impact that Quan had on a lot of people.”

There is currently no announced date for the service.
