Chris Brown’s former housekeeper accuses him of avoiding a deposition in a lawsuit worth $90 million

The maid for Chris Brown is deeply in debt to her old employer, who has many unresolved issues with her.

In the $90 million case involving a dog attack at his Los Angeles home, the R&B singer’s maid accused him of missing his deposition.

Maria Avila brought Chris Brown into court in 2021 regarding the assault that had place on December 12, 2020, which involved both her and Brown’s dog, Hades.

Chris Brown’s deposition attempts by the plaintiff allegedly fell on deaf ears

In order to resolve several gaps in the case, the housekeeper requested that the court set a date for a hearing. She claims she wants to depose the artist and a representative of Black Pyramid LLC, his company, but both have refused to provide witnesses for the procedure.

According to Maria’s legal team, she had been trying for more than a year to set a date for Brown’s deposition. Six times in February and March, they have contacted the singer, but they have never heard back from them favorably.

In her lawsuit, Avila described the incident in detail and stated that while she was working with her sister Patricia Avila in Brown’s Los Angeles house, she was assaulted by a huge Caucasian Shepherd/Ovchake mix dog.

According to In Touch, the dog attacked her as she was taking out the trash, biting off portions of skin in the process. In addition to requesting $90 million in damages, the housekeeper submitted photographic proof of her wounds.

The ‘Don’t Judge Me’ singer accused Maria of being careless near the dog.

In addition, Patricia launched her own complaint, requesting damages for the psychological pain she endured as a result of seeing her sister attacked.

On the other hand, Brown changed the story about Maria and refuted every accusation. Maria’s complaints regarding injuries were ones she had encouraged, according to his legal team.

They added that she “assumed the risk of them with full knowledge of the magnitude of that risk, in that she knew her foregoing conduct might cause the dog to attack her and seriously injure her, both of which events are alleged to have occurred.”

“In that she willfully and voluntarily teased, abused, or mistreated the dog and thereby provoked the attack,” according to Brown’s attorneys, is how Maria’s wrongdoing led to the attack.

Brown’s Deposition Claims Were Refuted by the Accuser

Maria mentioned that when Brown and Patricia allegedly took a deposition in 2023, her lawyers were not there. Then she insisted on having a chance to remove Chris on her own.

According to Maria’s lawsuit, Brown’s attorney did not give her further witnesses to question about the case’s facts.

The plaintiff asserted that although Brown was aware of the dogs’ purported history of aggression against humans, he was negligent in making sure the canines did no harm to anyone. According to the housekeeper’s lawsuit, it said:

“[Maria] is informed and believes that this was not the first instance in which the defendant’s dog Hades viciously bit, attacked, mauled, and injured a human being, and that the defendants were aware of this dog’s prior dangerous attacks, biting, killer instinct and aggressive proclivities.”

Maria’s attorneys further claimed that Hades lacked a valid license, and that Chris had failed to properly register the canine with the relevant licensing authority.

A few months ago, four concertgoers sued the performer for assault.

This year has undoubtedly been full of lawsuits for the celebrated musician. The Blast revealed in July that he was facing a $50 million lawsuit for leading and taking part in an attack on four concertgoers.

Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Da Marcus Powell were reportedly welcomed backstage at one of his “11:11” tour shows in Fort Worth, Texas, when the event allegedly occurred.

Brown’s team brought up a past confrontation between him and Bush, which quickly escalated the situation. Brown exclaimed, “Oh yeah, we were.” How are you, n-gga? I remember things. The singer of “No Air” and his group allegedly attacked the four fans head-on and hurled chairs at them.

The plaintiff stated in the claim that Brown actively directed the assault. He and seven to ten other members of his group are accused of pursuing Bsuh into a corridor where they resumed beating him and his pals.

In a $16 million lawsuit last year, Chris Brown was hauled into court.

Amadou Abe Diaw, the purported victim, demanded $16 million in damages after Brown and her got into a similar altercation at a London nightclub the previous year.

The increased amount represented a substantial increase above an earlier demand, per court documents from the filing. It began when Brown did not reply to the initial lawsuit within the allotted period, which prompted the plaintiff to file an entry of default.

Diaw asked for $15 million in general damages and $1 million in special damages as a result of the recent development. The alleged victim said that the celebrity angrily stomped on him after smashing a bottle of Don Julio 1942 Tequila over his head.

Diaw stated that the encounter left him hospitalized and caused him to sustain ruptured ligaments in his legs and on his head. While the artist was on his “Under The Influence” tour, the event is said to have happened in the early hours of February 19, 2023.
