Arsenal’s Merino is set to be sidelined for several weeks due to a training injury, according to Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has informed that new signing Mikel Merino is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks as he recovers from a shoulder injury. Unfortunately, Merino will not be able to participate in the upcoming home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Midfielder Merino, who joined from LaLiga side Real Sociedad on a long-term contract on Tuesday, unfortunately suffered the injury during training this week.

“Yes, that’s really unfortunate.” Yesterday, he experienced a collision resulting in a shoulder injury, which is quite unfortunate. According to Arteta, it seems that he will be sidelined for a few weeks,” the manager informed reporters on Friday.

“He landed on the floor and Gabi (Gabriel Magalhaes) landed on top of him, and it appears that he may have sustained a small fracture.”

“We’ll need to assess the situation.” He was experiencing a significant amount of discomfort. We will need to conduct additional tests to gather more conclusive answers.

Brighton’s strong start to the season, with two consecutive victories, has been recognized by Arteta.

“We strive to adequately prepare, just as any manager and team would, by providing them with precise and pertinent information that can contribute to securing a victory,” he stated.

“We have attempted to replicate our strategy for tomorrow’s match against a team that is performing exceptionally.” It’s a team that has recently undergone a coaching change and a shift in leadership. This match is going to be quite challenging.

Arteta expressed satisfaction with the squad he possessed as the transfer deadline neared.

“I’m consistently satisfied with the team.” According to Arteta, we have an exceptional group of players who are not only talented but also wonderful individuals.

“We constantly strive for improvement, acknowledging the need for growth.” Our top priority is to enhance the skills and abilities of our own players, both in terms of quantity and quality.
