Argentina’s World Cup qualifying team did not include Messi due to an injury
The Argentina Football Association (Argentina) released the roster for their South American World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia next month on Monday. The captain of Argentina, Lionel Messi, is injured.
Messi, 37, had an ankle injury at the Copa America final in the United States last month, therefore he was left off of the 28-man roster.
Here at his club, the Inter Miami player is recuperating.
Goalie Franco Armani of River Plate and forward Angel Di Maria, who declared his retirement from the national team following the Copa America, were also left off of the roster.
