Willian departs Fulham following a two-year tenure

Willian, a 36-year-old Brazil international, announced on Friday that he will be departing Fulham after two years with the Premier League club.

The one-year contract extension that the former Arsenal and Chelsea player signed with Fulham last year has now expired. He has been associated with a relocation to Saudi Arabia, according to reports in the British media.

“I am grateful to Fulham for the exceptional two years.” Willian shared on Instagram, “It was an honor to rejoin the Premier League and contribute to this iconic organization and its extraordinary supporters.”

“I have had incredible moments and this club will always be in my heart.”

During his tenure at Fulham, Willian, who operates as either an attacking midfielder or left flank, scored nine goals in 58 Premier League appearances.

In January 2023, he scored in a 2-1 victory over his former club Chelsea, thereby enabling Fulham to secure their first league victory over their West London rivals in 17 years.

Fulham will commence their Premier League campaign against Manchester United later on Friday.
