Eras Tour: Taylor Swift Fans Without Tickets Prohibited From Standing Outside Wembley Stadium

Non-ticket holders for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour have been prohibited from congregating outside Wembley Stadium as a result of security concerns.

“Tay-gating,” a practice that involves admirers of Taylor Swift gathering outside the venue to “soak up the atmosphere,” has been advised against for those who do not have tickets for her forthcoming London shows at Wembley Stadium.

The heightened security concerns at Wembley have resulted in the prohibition of this trend, which saw an estimated 40,000 supporters congregate outside her Munich concert last month. The warning was issued in response to the cancellation of three concerts in Vienna because of a security concern involving a planned attack by an Islamic State supporter. According to Wembley officials, Swift’s remaining UK performances will be subject to stringent security protocols, which include restrictions on luggage sizes and prohibited items. Additionally, non-ticket holders will be relocated.

“In order to ensure the safety of all individuals entering and exiting the stadium, it is prohibited to stand outside any entrance or on the Olympic Steps at the stadium’s front,” stated an update on the venue’s website. Those who do not possess tickets will be relocated.

One A4-sized bag is permitted for fans, while banners, umbrellas, glass or metal receptacles, iPads, laptops, aerosol sprays (including sunscreen), and signs larger than a page of A4 paper are prohibited.

Following the 2017 Manchester Arena explosion, security measures at Wembley were already reinforced, and they continue to be enforced during the Eras tour.

Beginning on Thursday, August 15, Swift is scheduled to perform at Wembley for five consecutive nights, bringing her total number of appearances at the venue to eight. This amount of performances will match the record set by Take That in 2011. She will also become the solo artist with the most performances at Wembley in a single tour, surpassing Michael Jackson’s seven performances during his 1988 Bad Tour.

It is anticipated that the Eras Tour, a global phenomenon, will generate over $2 billion in ticket sales when it concludes in Canada this December.
This has resulted in Swift performing over 100 concerts worldwide.

The Met Police have reassured fans that there are no additional threats and that extensive security measures are in place to guarantee the safety of attendees, despite the concerns that have arisen in the wake of the Vienna incident.

The police, according to a spokesperson, had collaborated with venue security teams and other collaborators to guarantee that the necessary security and policing protocols were implemented. “We will continue to conduct a thorough review of any new information,” they added.

Paramore, Sofia Isella, Holly Humberstone, Suki Waterhouse, Maisie Peters, and Raye are among the several support artists that will be performing at the Wembley Stadium.

After Swift included new support acts for each of the dates, Wembley’s official website also indicated that the upcoming Eras shows would commence at earlier times.

The doors will be open from 15:30 to 15:45 each day, and performances will commence at either 16:55 or 17:10, depending on the date.
