Even after a flawless preseason trip, Slot feels that Liverpool is still a work in progress

Even though Liverpool defeated Manchester United 3-0 in South Carolina on Saturday to round up their preseason tour of the United States, new manager Arne Slot stated his team still has space for development.

Slot, who took over for Juergen Klopp in May, led Liverpool to victories against Real Betis and Arsenal as well. On August 17, they go to promoted Ipswich Town for their Premier League debut before hosting Sevilla at Anfield next.

“Yes, I was but not with all of them,” the Dutchman responded when asked if he was happy with his team’s efforts thus far. We are thrilled with the outcome; we scored some pretty good goals and had a great tour.

“But we gave up too many opportunities, and I don’t think we had enough control over the game.” Although we did have the quality to score from our own opportunities, United deserved better than a 3-0 defeat.

“We’ll see how the players who are back from vacation mesh with the group. To be prepared, we must put in a lot of effort over the next two weeks.”
