Forward Sarr from Senegal joins Palace

Ismaila Sarr, a forward from Olympique de Marseille, has signed a five-year contract with Crystal Palace, the Premier League team announced on Thursday.

Although the specifics of the deal were kept under wraps, British media reported that Palace paid approximately 12.5 million pounds ($15.96 million) for the 26-year-old.

Sarr rejoined Marseille in July of last year, following a brief hiatus from English football at Watford.

As Palace looks to replace Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich earlier in the transfer window, the Senegal international comes at Selhurst Park.

“He has proven he can score goals in every year and at every team he has played for. Oliver Glasner, the manager, said, “We are really happy that he will join our group. He showed it in the Senegalese national team as well.”

$1 equals 0.7831 pounds.
