CAF and Algeria are currently in a dispute regarding matters related to the 2025 AFCON

The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is adopting a more aggressive position in response to the African Football Confederation’s (CAF) ongoing quiet over the appeal.

Despite its continuous follow-ups, the federation has yet to get an official response two months after submitting an appeal against the fines associated with the Algeria–Nigeria match (2025 Africa Cup of Nations).

The FAF is currently preparing a significant legal offensive after denouncing a blatant breach of its right to a defense.

It intends to present the matter to the CAF Executive Committee and General Assembly to request the complete revocation of the sanctions, which it believes to be unjustified.

Algeria says it is ready to take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne if the standoff continues at the continental level.

Relations between the FAF and the organization headed by Patrice Motsepe would drastically change as a result of this appeal to an international entity, potentially leading to increased tensions or a reevaluation of their collaborative efforts in African football.
