Hakim Ziyech sacrifices 75% of his salary to join Wydad AC

Hakim Ziyech, resolute in his desire to rejoin the national team, has accepted a significant reduction in salary to sign with Wydad AC in Casablanca.

Club president Hicham Aït Menna stated that the 32-year-old Moroccan international has consented to a 75% reduction in his salary.

Before this transfer, he was with Al-Duhail SC in Qatar, where he earned around $5 million each season.

Ziyech arrived in November but did not start playing until January. In six matches played, he has netted two goals and delivered one assist, featuring a decisive game-winning goal in the final moments against RS Berkane.

The former playmaker for the Moroccan national soccer team aims to regain his peak performance through this move and persuade head coach Mohamed Ouahbi to bring him back for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
