Cardi B Shares Her Fears About Performing in Indianapolis Following a Bomb Threat

The rapper reflects on the frightening security incident from 2019 while on stage during her sold-out Little Miss Drama Tour stop.

During her recent tour stop in Indianapolis, Cardi B captivated the audience with her humor, but the story behind the humor was rooted in a frightening experience from her past.

The Bronx rapper took the stage on Saturday night, March 14, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for her sold-out Little Miss Drama Tour stop in the city. As she energized the audience ahead of her popular track “I Like It,” Cardi paused to reflect on a past Indianapolis concert that had to be delayed due to a bomb threat reported right before her performance was set to begin.

Addressing the audience, Cardi reflected on how intense the situation seemed at that time.

“They issued a threatening message!” “They said they were going to bomb our show,” Bardi told the crowd. “I said, ‘Wait a minute, everyone. They want to bomb me? I was terrified! Everyone online was berating me, claiming that I was being dishonest and so on. However, I would never treat you that way. I would never back out on you all. But safety comes first, everyone!

Her remarks pertained to a performance on July 30, 2019, held at the same venue, which was known as Bankers Life Fieldhouse at that time. The concert was called off just before it was set to begin after authorities reported an “unverified threat” aimed at the artist.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated that there was no immediate threat to the public; however, the event was postponed as officers looked into the situation.

The city has graciously embraced Cardi B for a second chance.
