During a South by Southwest panel, a fan boldly seized the moment to express his interest in Keke Palmer, interrupting the ongoing discussion.
On March 13, the Hustlers actress was onstage with her “I Love Boosters” costars Demi Moore, Naomi Ackie, and Eiza Gonzalez when a man came up, knelt down, and proposed to her. Rather than succumbing to panic, Palmer maintained composure and addressed the situation with sincerity.
“I cannot marry you,” Keke replied in a video. “I am not familiar with you.” I sincerely apologize. I sincerely apologize, sir.
The laughter of the audience filled the air, yet Palmer soon understood that the circumstances might not be humorous.
“Is this a prank?” she inquired, her surprise evident as the man continued to kneel on the stage, holding a ring.
Her castmates looked taken aback as the uncomfortable situation developed. Security and event staff quickly intervened and escorted the man out of the venue, but not before he exclaimed that Palmer truly wished to accept his proposal.
After the situation had calmed, Palmer spoke to the room, attempting to lower the energy once more.
“Apologies, everyone; let’s take a moment to breathe deeply,” she suggested. “Sending you lots of love, brother.”
She then remarked, “We’re back.”
