Blueface Falls to Chibu in Stunning Main Event Upset
A boxing match intended to enhance Blueface’s momentum in the ring concluded with the rapper experiencing a significant upset.
Blueface stepped into the ring Saturday night at Adin Ross’ “Brand Risk” influencer boxing event in Miami, marking his return to the sport after knocking out Ed Matthews in 2023. The rapper showed up for the matchup anticipating a standard performance ahead of a bigger fight set for May, but his opponent, Chibu, had different intentions.
Blueface had been away from competition for three years and appeared distinctly different from his previous outing. The rapper, who once maintained a lean middleweight frame at approximately 157 pounds, now appears noticeably heavier after gaining weight during his time in prison due to a probation violation related to a battery case from 2021.
Even with the change in size, Blueface began the fight demonstrating impressive technique.
In the opening round, he effectively utilized his reach and boxing fundamentals to maintain distance and deliver cleaner shots compared to the less experienced Chibu. Many have noted Blueface’s training sessions with fighters such as Floyd Mayweather and Keyshawn Davis as evidence of the rapper’s genuine commitment to the sport.
However, the atmosphere of the fight shifted in the second round.
Chibu pushed Blueface toward the ropes and started to focus on the body with strong punches. In the midst of the exchange, the pressure caused Blueface to spill through the ropes and out of the ring, leaving the crowd in stunned silence. The referee determined that the sequence constituted a continuation of action instead of a knockdown.
Throughout the ongoing battle, Chibu kept up the intensity, while Blueface found it challenging to recover his momentum.
In the final round, the underdog was delivering more significant strikes, highlighted by a corner flurry that almost prompted the referee to halt the match. Upon the announcement of the judges’ scorecards, Chibu secured a unanimous decision victory.
Undefeated fighter Claressa Shields shared her thoughts on the fight, indicating that entertainers should dedicate more time to training before stepping into the ring.

“Egypt lost her fight, and Blueface also lost…” In my opinion, these public figures should spend a minimum of six months in the gym before engaging in real fights,” she tweeted Sunday morning.
The recent defeat raises questions about Blueface’s scheduled May 2 fight against former NBA champion Nick “Swaggy P” Young at Miami’s James L. Knight Center, an event that had already been promoted with tickets available for purchase.
