Dwight Howard’s former assistant alleges he managed security, errands, and training duties while receiving only $8,000 in compensation

A former employee alleges that the ex-NBA star owes over $30,000 following several months of work at Howard’s residence.

A man claiming to have collaborated closely with Dwight Howard in his residence is now pursuing legal action against the former NBA star.

Terrence Hudson has initiated legal action, alleging that Howard did not compensate him fully for several weeks of work and also inflicted emotional distress during a tumultuous time in the athlete’s personal life. Court documents acquired by Us Weekly reveal that Hudson claims to have been employed by Howard, 40, and his wife, Amy Luciani, from June 25, 2025, to October 8, 2025.

Hudson asserts that he held multiple positions simultaneously. The document states that he served as house security, domestic manager, and Howard’s personal assistant while being involved in the couple’s household operations.

The complaint indicates that Hudson and Howard purportedly reached an agreement of $2,000 per week for the position. However, Hudson argues that they never consistently received the payments. In the lawsuit, he claims that Howard purportedly made “inconsistent payments totaling $8,137.54” over approximately 15 weeks of work. Hudson outlines a diverse array of responsibilities.

The filing indicates that his responsibilities involved assisting in the training of Howard as he got ready for the BIG3 basketball competition. The lawsuit further states that Hudson managed daily responsibilities such as driving Howard, running errands, and purchasing food for the player’s children.

Hudson asserts that he subsequently tried to recover the outstanding funds he felt he was entitled to. The lawsuit indicates that he dispatched a certified letter seeking payment, yet the request was “declined.”

He claims he was “forced from the home with unjust enrichment due to nonpayment for over a month.”

Hudson is requesting $40,702.06 in damages. The total comprises $30,702.06 in claimed unpaid wages, in addition to $10,000 related to emotional distress and unjust enrichment. The case is still under consideration.

The lawsuit arrives at a time when Howard is also navigating a public divorce from Luciani. Court documents submitted on March 9 indicate that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and assert that there is “no hope of reconciliation.”
