Damon Dash Secures New BET Series “OG STORIES” Featuring Street Legends and Self-Made Entrepreneurs

BET is enlisting Damon Dash to deliver candid, unvarnished discussions through a new series focused on the influential voices that have shaped culture from its roots.

“OG STORIES,” an original conversation series, has officially received approval from the network and will debut in spring 2026. Created and hosted by a co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, this project highlights cultural architects, entrepreneurs, and street legends who achieved their success through hard work and determination. With striking visuals and authentic conversation, Dash engages with longtime colleagues to explore themes of survival, entrepreneurship, and the mentality needed to transform challenges into a lasting legacy.

Dash, a record executive, producer, director, and entrepreneur, established himself as one of hip-hop’s pioneering independent-minded moguls. As a co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, he played a pivotal role in initiating a series of artist-driven business ventures that transcended music, branching into film, fashion, and media.

“I want to express my gratitude to BET, Louis Carr, and Brian Rikuda for their faith in the vision and for providing a home for this show,” said Damon Dash. “OG STORIES is truly my Paid in Full, a portrayal of genuine life and authentic individuals I am familiar with. These are friends and peers who experienced this, created something from scratch, and gained the insights that accompany it. This series aims to convey those stories as they truly unfolded.

The series comes forth as Dash persists in maneuvering through prominent legal challenges related to previous business conflicts. A federal case concerning his proposed NFT sale linked to Jay-Z’s debut album, “Reasonable Doubt,” was eventually resolved, allowing Roc-A-Fella shareholders to sell their ownership stakes in the label while preserving the company’s control over the album’s rights.

Despite enduring years of lawsuits and financial strain, Dash has continued to engage in various film and media projects. With “OG STORIES,” he makes a return to storytelling, highlighting the hustlers, innovators, and bosses whose experiences have shaped the culture long before social media brought their journeys to light.
