Steve Tisch, Co-Owner of the New York Giants, has transferred his stake in the team to family trusts following the appearance of his name in the Jeffrey Epstein files

Steve Tisch, co-owner of the New York Giants, along with Laurie and Jonathan Tisch, is transferring their remaining ownership stakes in the NFL franchise to trusts for their children, following the recent emergence of Steve’s name in numerous court files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

ESPN initially reported the decision in an internal memo. The development comes after the release of court documents related to Epstein, the convicted sex offender who passed away in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Steve’s name was mentioned over 400 times in those documents, leading the NFL to initiate its investigation into his previous connection with the disgraced financier.

A representative for the Giants informed the Daily Mail that the ownership transfer is unrelated to Epstein.

As stated in the memo from ESPN, the Tisch family plans to transfer their remaining shares, which account for 23.1 percent of the franchise, into trusts for their children.

“The memo stated that prior transfers to these Trusts were executed in accordance with the approvals from the Finance Committee for 2023 and 2024.” “The Sellers now intend to convey their complete remaining interests, amounting to 23.1% of the Club, to the Trusts…” After the transactions, the sellers will have no remaining interest in the club.

The NFL chose not to provide any remarks regarding the ownership change.

Steve Tisch, 77, has refuted any allegations of misconduct and has expressed regret over his past association with Epstein.

“We had a short collaboration during which we communicated via email regarding adult women, and we also talked about films, charitable activities, and investment opportunities,” Tisch stated. “I declined all of his invitations and never visited his island.” It is now clear that he was a dreadful individual, and I truly regret having associated with him.

Prior to the recent action, the Tisch family held approximately 45 percent of the Giants, a franchise that Forbes estimates to be worth around $10.1 billion.
