Ye’s concert announcement in LA has ignited a ticket frenzy, with 1 million fans eagerly waiting in line

Ticketmaster experienced a huge surge in demand for concert tickets this week following Ye’s announcement of a rare appearance in Los Angeles. When artist presale tickets opened on Tuesday, demand increased almost immediately; at one point, over a million people were allegedly waiting in line online to reserve seats. Ye’s first significant performance in Los Angeles in a number of years is set for April 3 at SoFi Stadium.

On Wednesday, general ticket sales via Ticketmaster are anticipated to start. Additionally, a promotional giveaway related to Ye’s upcoming album Bully offers fans another opportunity to attend. The statement states that artists who pre-save the album and register on Yelosangeles.com will be entered into a raffle to potentially win free event tickets.

Ye has been in the news over the past few years for a number of non-music-related reasons, so the impending event bears extra significance. He apologized for racist and antisemitic remarks he had previously made in a full-page ad published in The Wall Street Journal in January. Fans’ and onlookers’ reactions to his initial concerts following that apology were divided in Mexico City earlier this year.

Still, the overwhelming demand for the Los Angeles concert suggests Ye’s core audience remains eager to see him perform live. His last major concert appearance in the United States took place in March 2024 when he and Ty Dolla Sign headlined the opening night of Rolling Loud California in Inglewood. Prior to this recently announced stadium show, the appearance was one of his most recent large-scale performances.
