Ye announces a SoFi Stadium show in Los Angeles as his first major U.S. performance in years

Ye is making a return to the spotlight with a significant performance scheduled in Los Angeles.

As reported by Variety, the artist formerly known as Kanye West has revealed plans for a concert at SoFi Stadium on April 3, which will be his first significant performance in the United States in several years. A message dispatched to fans on Monday morning characterized the event as his “sole performance in Los Angeles.”

Fans were instructed to visit Ye’s website to pre-register for the show by pre-saving his forthcoming album, “Bully.” The website suggests that registering early may offer an unforeseen advantage.

The website states, “A few fortunate pre-registrants will be chosen to receive complimentary tickets.”

Tickets for the concert will be available for pre-sale starting Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time. General ticket sales are set to commence on Wednesday.

Recently, live performances by Ye in the United States have been quite limited. The rapper has maintained a presence on international stages, performing in Mexico City earlier this year and also holding several shows in South Korea and China dating back to 2024.

He last graced SoFi Stadium during Rolling Loud in 2024, sharing the stage with Ty Dolla Sign. The event primarily functioned as a listening party for their collaborative album “Vultures 1” instead of a conventional concert performance.

The recently announced Los Angeles show follows months after Ye responded to previous controversies with a full-page apology letter that was published in The Wall Street Journal. In the statement, he recognized the damage inflicted by the antisemitic comments he had made on social media and in interviews.

“However, it does not justify my actions. ”I do not identify as a Nazi or hold antisemitic views. “I have a deep appreciation for Jewish people,” Ye expressed.

He also spoke to the Black community in the same letter, stating, “I am so sorry to have let you down.”

The performance at SoFi Stadium comes as Ye gears up for the release of his forthcoming album “Bully,” set to debut on March 27 following several delays.
