Woman Identified in Shooting Outside Rihanna’s Luxurious Los Angeles Residence
The Los Angeles Police Department has named 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz as the individual taken into custody following gunfire that hit the Beverly Hills residence of music icon Rihanna. According to police records, authorities have charged Ortiz with attempted murder and established her bail at $10.225 million.
Officers were sent to the Beverly Crest neighborhood at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sunday following several calls that reported gunfire in the vicinity of the residence. Authorities report that the individual parked near the residence and discharged seven shots toward the house before departing the location in her car.
The vehicle was subsequently found approximately eight miles distant at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center. Officers apprehended Ortiz soon after discovering the vehicle linked to the case.
During the investigation, detectives recovered the firearm thought to have been used in the shooting. Authorities reported discovering seven shell casings from assault rifles outside the residence during their investigation of the scene.
There were no reported injuries, and investigators have yet to confirm if anyone was present in the home during the gunfire. Later footage from television aerials revealed multiple bullet holes in the front gate of the property.
Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, gained worldwide recognition in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits such as Pon de Replay and Umbrella. She subsequently developed a significant business portfolio through her Fenty brand, encompassing cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie enterprises.
The singer has been in a romantic relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky since 2020. The couple has three children together.
The Los Angeles Police Department reports that the investigation is still ongoing.
