The UK Recalls Rihanna’s Fragrances Due to Prohibited Chemicals That May Endanger Reproductive Health

Certain batches of “Kiss” and “RiRi” are being removed from UK shelves due to the discovery of toxic ingredients that are illegal under current regulations.

A critical safety alert has been issued for beauty lovers as a U.K. retail chain suspends the sale of two fragrances from Rihanna’s collection.

According to reports from The Mirror, the fragrances “Kiss” and “RiRi” are being removed from Savers stores throughout the U.K. and Europe. The prompt removal is necessitated by the identification of hazardous ingredients known to cause serious health issues in women and pose risks to pregnancies.

The investigation pinpointed two particular additives: hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional. To put it simply, these are Lyral and Lilial. Lyral faced a ban due to a significant increase in severe allergic reactions reported by consumers. Lilial was banned to safeguard the female reproductive system and avert developmental problems in unborn children. Recently, these toxins were found in existing stock, despite a 2022 mandate that banned them in the U.K. and E.U.

Check your packaging right away if you possess the 15 ml versions of these scents. The batch codes associated with the health hazard are 0608940572252 for “Kiss” and 0608940560389 for “RiRi.” Savers has announced that they will be issuing full refunds to all impacted customers.

“Savers have today (3rd March 2026) announced a recall of the aforementioned fragrance lines due to the discovery of ingredients—hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde and butylphenyl methylpropional—that are prohibited from sale in the UK.”

The company is encouraging customers to bring back the harmful batches to their nearby stores to prioritize public safety.

“Customers are encouraged to return any of the aforementioned products bought at a Savers store to the original location, where a full refund will be provided.”

The retailer conveyed their disappointment regarding the situation, stating, “If you are uncertain whether you possess one of the aforementioned products, please consult our store teams, who will be glad to assist.” Savers sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.
