Kim of North Korea evaluates a cement facility following the establishment of new objectives at an important party congress
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a cement factory on Sunday and emphasized the importance of ongoing production to achieve new objectives established during a recent significant party congress, according to state media KCNA on Monday.
In late February, North Korea conducted a week-long Ninth Congress of the ruling Workers’ Party, where Kim pointed out the value of ongoing construction initiatives like the Hwasong district in Pyongyang “for strengthening national power.”
Kim praised the workers at the cement factory for their heightened production, which has enabled the completion of construction projects, according to KCNA.
According to the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, Kim’s publicly reported appearances increased from approximately 70 in 2021 to 153 in 2025. This rise is partly attributed to Kim’s focus on economic growth, as evidenced by his inspections of newly completed building projects, including hotels, residential blocks, and factories.
