Diddy May Be Required to Testify as Key Witness in Keefe D’s Tupac Shakur Murder Trial
A surprising turn of events could bring past rap rivalries into a Las Vegas courtroom, as Diddy might find himself involved in the long-anticipated Tupac Shakur murder trial. Duane “Keefe D” Davis, facing a life sentence after being charged by Clark County prosecutors in connection with Shakur’s 1996 killing, is of the opinion that Diddy could assist in his defense. The defense team views the mogul as a potentially significant witness, as reported by the New York Post.
Davis’ lawyer is said to be optimistic that Diddy would back the former gang leader’s claim that his numerous admissions regarding Shakur’s death were merely fabrications aimed at attaining “fame and fortune.”
Duane has expressed his sentiments explicitly—if Diddy serves as a witness or issues a statement contradicting what he relayed to the police, it would significantly benefit him. Another factor is that this case will be a jury trial, and there is a belief that celebrities are frequently viewed with favoritism. A family friend remarked, “If Diddy were to support this story, it would be incredibly beneficial.”
Davis has consistently asserted that Diddy proposed one million dollars to have Shakur eliminated. Prosecutors contend that Davis’ previous statements to police regarding his presence near the Las Vegas Strip constitute multiple admissions of guilt.
When inquired about the possibility of Combs testifying, attorney Michael Pandullo stated, “Currently, Combs would serve as a credible witness for the defense.”
Davis has been in custody since August 2023. The trial is presently scheduled for August 2026, although it may be postponed until 2027.
