Snooki Shares Diagnosis of Stage 1 Cervical Cancer, Outlines Hysterectomy Plans

The Jersey Shore star encourages fans to focus on their health following the receipt of biopsy results.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is entering 2026 with a significant health challenge, announcing on Feb. 20 that she has received a diagnosis of Stage 1 cervical cancer. The 38-year-old “Jersey Shore” icon shared the news with fans in a TikTok video after a cone biopsy revealed she has adenocarcinoma.

Although the diagnosis is difficult, she is embracing the comfort that her doctors identified the disease at its initial stage. “It was diagnosed as Stage 1 cervical cancer, specifically adenocarcinoma,” she stated. “While this isn’t the news I’ve been wishing for, it’s not the worst outcome since they detected it so early.” Thank goodness!

The mother of three is candid about her journey, acknowledging that she spent years confronting red flags before ultimately addressing them directly. She is now using her personal experience as a wake-up call for other women to prioritize their gynecologist appointments. “I’m 38 years old and I’ve been dealing with abnormal Pap smears for three or four years now, and now look at me,” she continued. “Rather than delaying due to my reluctance, pain, and fear, I simply went ahead and did it.” It was revealed that cancer is present, but it is at Stage 1 and is treatable.

During her cone biopsy, a procedure in which doctors remove a small piece of tissue for disease testing, surgeons successfully excised the main tumor. Polizzi conveyed that the surrounding tissue was clear, which brings significant relief to her medical team. “There were no cancer cells found, indicating that it didn’t extend into the cervix, which is positive news,” she continued, acknowledging that there remains a possibility of the cancer spreading within her body. To ensure her safety, she will proceed with a PET scan and has chosen to have a hysterectomy.

For Polizzi, opting for surgery was the most favorable option when weighed against the alternatives of radiation or chemotherapy. Despite the tumultuous beginning of the year, she remains dedicated to doing everything necessary to ensure her health for the sake of her children. “Clearly, I believe the most prudent option in this situation is the hysterectomy.” “I’ll still keep my ovaries, which is a positive indication,” she remarked. “However, we need to remove the cervix and uterus…” The outcome is contingent upon the PET scan. She was candid about her current mindset, acknowledging that 2026 isn’t unfolding as she had hoped, while also remarking, “But also, it could be worse.”

Her diagnosis coincides with the American Cancer Society’s report of an increasing trend of cervical cancer among women in their 30s and 40s. In late January, Snooki raised alarms among her fans by revealing that a colposcopy had detected abnormal cells.

She is now resolute in her commitment to persevere through the treatment and to assist other women in understanding that they are not alone. “Although this isn’t the news I was hoping for, I still need to take additional steps to resolve this,” she stated. “I believe this is quite prevalent among women.”
